El elefante azul, by Juan Rentero, is a short book with three characters and a simple plot. But while it lacks in complexity, the text is very easy to read, and so it's very useful in teaching beginners, FLES and immersion students. It would be good for a unit about friendship or animals.

Issuu book: El marciano accidentado
El marciano accidentado, by Zorely Rubio and Pablo Sacristan, is a short story about a martian who lands on earth, and the friends who come to help him with his problems. The message is a nice one (about cooperation and friendship) and the illustrations are fun. The text is a bit advanced for beginners - probably better suited for interemediate learners. Fun!

When the neighbors start complaining, Marquitos' parents forbid him from jumping and the boy becomes very sad.
